Reflecting on 2024 and Driving Momentum into 2025

January 15, 2025

As the year has now drawn to a close, I believe it’s important to take a moment to reflect on what we’ve achieved and where we’re headed. 2024 has been a transformative year for Continuum Powders—a year defined by innovation, collaboration, and sustainability.

One of the most significant milestones of the year was the grand opening of our new global headquarters and state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas.

This site isn’t just our new home; it’s also North America’s largest sustainable metal powder production facility. Designed as a green manufacturing center, it represents a leap forward in low-carbon production methods and operational efficiency. With net-zero carbon energy partners and low-emission gas systems, the Houston facility has the lowest carbon footprint of any metal powder production site globally.

Our new facility isn’t just about sustainability—it’s about delivering more to our customers. With increased production capacity, we’re now able to ship faster, reduce costs, and support supply chain resilience for industries like energy, aerospace, and defense. It’s the foundation for the next phase of Continuum Powders, and it’s already making an impact.

Two major shipments leaving our facility at the end of December symbolized the strides we’ve made. These shipments weren’t just packages of powder; they represented the culmination of a year spent pushing the boundaries of advanced manufacturing. They reflect partnerships with industry leaders who are fundamentally rethinking their production methods, moving away from traditional casting and forging toward cleaner, more efficient processes like binder jetting and laser-based additive manufacturing.

Leading the Shift to Advanced Manufacturing

Last year, we supported customers who are revolutionizing their industries by adopting additive manufacturing for high-performance components. By replacing traditional casting and forging methods, they are unlocking new efficiencies, reducing lead times, and minimizing waste.

Take the adoption of OptiPowder M247, a high-temperature superalloy powder. One major partner is using this material to reimagine how critical parts are made for industrial gas turbines. By switching to binder jetting, they’ve taken a bold step to eliminate castings and forgings altogether—dramatically streamlining production while maintaining the highest performance standards.

Similarly, our work with Ni718 and M247 powders has enabled another partner to scale their proprietary additive platform, empowering customers in industries like aerospace and energy to adopt sustainable manufacturing practices that deliver on both performance and cost.

These are just a few examples of how Continuum Powders is helping drive the shift toward advanced manufacturing.

The Sustainability Imperative

Beyond performance and efficiency, sustainability remains at the heart of everything we do. In 2024, we solidified our role as a leader in the circular metal economy by turning end-of-life components into premium powders ready for reuse. This approach isn’t just good for the planet—it’s also a competitive advantage for our partners, helping them achieve their sustainability goals without compromising on quality.

Our proprietary M2P technology has been pivotal in this effort, allowing us to reclaim materials and convert them into powders that match or exceed the standards of traditionally-produced materials. This year alone, we helped customers reduce material waste and their carbon footprints while keeping critical materials in circulation.

Looking Ahead to 2025

As we head into 2025, the momentum we’ve built in 2024 propels us forward. Key partnerships are expanding, with planned shipments of M247, Ni718, Ti64 and other high-performance alloys increasing to meet growing demand. We’re also exploring new opportunities in high-temperature and hypersonic alloys, as well as expanding our footprint globally to better serve customers wherever they operate.

Innovation will remain our driving force, and sustainability will remain our foundation. Whether it’s developing new materials, optimizing our processes, or working hand-in-hand with customers to solve their toughest challenges, Continuum Powders is committed to redefining what’s possible in additive manufacturing.

As I look back on this year, I’m proud of what we’ve achieved—and even more excited about what’s to come.

To all of our partners, thank you for trusting us to be part of your journey. Here’s to another year of growth, innovation, and sustainability.

Let’s make 2025 even better!
